So Cyrus and I have decided upon two names, both being first names. One for a boy and one for a girl. If the child is male, his name will be Lestat. We have yet to decide upon a middle name. At one point in time it was going to be Corgan but I think we are both set against it. We've also semi-discussed some kind of tribute to Cyrus' late Uncle Kevin. It's a hard topic to broach so it hasn't been discussed much.
If the child is female, her name will be Rhayne. We both really love the name. Cyrus came up with the name and I, the spelling. No middle names discussed here either however, I have been thinking about the middle name Echo. In Greek mythology, there is a terrible but beautiful story about a nymph named Echo. She tried to keep the Queen Goddess, Hera, from finding her husband Zeus off gallavanting with the other nymphs. For her treachery, Hera cursed Echo so that she may only repeat what others have to say. One day she came upon a young beautiful man named Narcissus who shunned her and all others. He found no one beautiful until one day he came upon a stream and while stooping to drink, he saw his reflection. Poor Echo had continued to follow him hoping that one day he would come love her. However, since he had fallen in love with himself, she could only repeat his words of love knowing they were not for her. Being able to bear it no longer, she found a cave and stayed there until she wasted away. Only her voice was left as a memory and to this day, she is still cursed with only being able to repeat others.
Like I said a sad story but it is very beautiful to me. I will talk to Cyrus about it later and see what he thinks. We like to have our children's names have some sort of meaning. For instance, Enya Luna means Little Fire Moon. So I think that Rhayne Echo would be a beautiful name for a little girl.
Well that was just my thoughts before bed. Until next time: Love, Kisses, and Blessings.
